[She breathes out an answer, a sigh of relief. With that established, she's actually pretty eager to get to the mall. Eddie seems all too happy to oblige, escorting her out to the van. They listen to loud music and scream-sing the entire way, Chrissy dancing in her seat and giggling.

The mall they find isn't all that busy, which suits her well enough. She's excited as she holds Eddie's hand and he leads her from store to store. They browse for some clothes and things for her, but everything they come across feels too much like something she'd wear in her old life. So she declines all of it, and eventually she can tell that he's getting concerned.

I just feel like a different person now. I don't want to be Chrissy Cunningham anymore. At least not like how I used to be. You know?
